The Life You Live Is Your Reflection In The Mirror
Life presents us with a mirror of our inner world. Every situation we encounter outside reflects our inner state. Just as we need to clean our face to erase a stain we see in the mirror, in order to change the situations we do not like in life, we need to transform not the outside but the inside. When we ignore our own feelings, we encounter them as an insensitive friend, when we have repressed feelings, as a dripping faucet or a leaky roof.
There are qualities in people we like that make us feel good about ourselves. More people who have the qualities we have come into our lives and these people actually remind us of our self-worth. Similarly, if our freedom is restricted in our lives, we see a bird with a broken wing, and if we are not aware that we are living fast, we may face an accident. The water element reflects our mood; if we have suppressed emotions, dripping roofs or faucets remind us of this. Still waters indicate peace, while waterfalls indicate enthusiasm.
Fire reflects our inner energy. An uncontrolled fire destroys the surroundings, while a cooking fire represents creativity. The earth element shows our inner confidence. The unstable points in our lives are revealed by getting stuck in mud or earthquakes. Air means communication and thought; sitting in a draft that disturbs us indicates disturbing communications. Storms herald the destruction of old thoughts and the emergence of new ideas.
In fact, every part of our car symbolizes a characteristic of ours. When the brakes fail, it tells us that we need to end something in our lives; if our headlights are broken, it tells us that we don't know which way to go. If our paint is peeling, it indicates a place where we are worn out. The battery shows our energy; the gear shows the speed at which we are progressing in life.
Even the animals we own tell us about ourselves. A well-behaved dog shows that its owner is trustworthy; a wild animal reflects the aspects we need to be careful about. Nature is a mirror to us with every detail: An oak tree shows responsibility and reliability; insects show our dark sides. Having a colorful garden is a sign of a colorful personality.
Feelings such as guilt, fear of failure and worthlessness are mirrors that reflect us. When we are blamed, we blame the other party, when we feel inadequate, we find excuses or postpone. Feeling worthlessness inflates a negative bubble inside us, creates resentment, and causes us to think, “They don’t want me.” These feelings increase the conflict within us unless we go to the roots and release them.
If we fear worthlessness or exclusion, we do not have confidence in ourselves. This can turn into jealousy, resentment, possessiveness or fear of not being loved. We need to dig deep into our emotions by asking ourselves, “What happens if this happens?”, accept that emotion and release it. As pure love emanates from within us, we encounter love in the outside world.
The law of reflection shows us that confronting our inner world rather than trying to change the outer world is the key to creating real change.
