Whatever a person does, he does to himself
Every behavior we do in life creates an invisible echo around us, and these echoes somehow come back to us. Sometimes as we expect, sometimes in a way we never expect… When we are kind and understanding towards others, we usually find the same response. These behaviors create a positive cycle in our lives, nourished by love and kindness. A smile, a friendly word or a sincere help leaves a positive impact on others in this cycle we start. This effect returns to us with the same gentle and loving attitude over time. The person in front of us reflects this value to us by feeling valuable, and thus a peaceful and kindly area is created around us.
For example, let's think about the genuine interest and compassion a teacher showed to a student who was going through a difficult time years ago. Instead of criticizing or judging the student, the teacher tried to understand him, supported him, and said a few encouraging words that would touch his life. Years passed and this student grew up to be a successful doctor. One day, the teacher was brought to the hospital in serious condition and was taken care of by this doctor. The doctor helped his once inspiring teacher in the best way possible, and did not withhold his attention and love. The kindness and compassion that the teacher once showed returned in the same way, this time from the student-doctor's hands, years later.
However, this cycle does not only apply to positive actions; negative behaviors have the same effect. When we wrong or hurt someone, this behavior affects not only that person but also us. Even if it is not noticed in the short term, we can be sure that this negative energy will somehow come back to us. Life has its own balance; every action a person makes, every reaction he gives, somehow finds its way back to him and confronts him. The saying “Whatever a person does, he does to himself” describes this balance exactly; every good and every bad thing done actually returns to the person and finds him.
Therefore, it is important to remember that our actions are not limited to that moment, but also leave traces in the future. This cycle we create around us is actually a field of influence that touches and shapes our lives. Expanding this field positively with gentle, compassionate and understanding behaviors adds peace, happiness and value to both ourselves and our environment. Taking steps filled with kindness and love instead of negative actions makes our lives more meaningful and valuable. Let's not forget that every energy we give to the world will one day come back to us.
